Overview

When it comes to things to do in Bridgetown, whether you’re here for a day or a week, you can’t miss the chance to fish and swim in our warm Barbados waters.

At Therapy Charters, we are a Barbados family-owned and -operated business that understands the needs of our guests. On all our private charters, we welcome you and your private group not as customers but as friends. Our captain and crew are attentive from start to finish, making sure you get the most out of your day in Bridgetown.

A totally customizable charter experience

You're on vacation and we are here to help you feel that way. We are always happy to work with you and your family to create an itinerary that is special to you.

Here are some ideas of how you can customize this experience:

  • Do a father and son fishing trip for the first three hours, then we can head back to the dock to pick up the rest of the family for two hours of swimming with turtles in Carlisle Bay.
  • Spend most of the whole five hours splashing around and having fun, or get the most of a deep-sea or light tackling fishing trip!
  • Receive fishing lessons (for all ages) with our expert crew
  • Each trip typically ends with a chance to mellow out in Carlisle Bay, swimming with turtles.

You'll be swimming or fishing within minutes

Once we leave our Bridgetown dock, you'll be out on the water fishing, swimming, or snorkeling with 10 minutes.

Expert local captain and crew

Half the fun of going out in a private charter is just sitting back and enjoying the day. Safety is top of mind for us at Therapy Charters. Our team is made up of real fishermen who grew up on the island, which means they know it well. Your captain will be engaged throughout your experience, finding you the best and safest spots to cast your line.

Flexible availability for booking your charter and crew

Many travelers to Bridgetown arrive via a cruise ship, which makes scheduling and timing even more important. Our dock is a 20-minute walk from the port of Bridgetown, and we offer round-trip transportation from hotels and the port. We always tell folks that there is nothing to worry about if you only have a day: we never lose sight of the cruise ships when we are out on the water! Whether you want a full day out, or a few hours, we are here to work with you!

We have everything you need for a day of swimming and fishing in Barbados. Storage lockers for personal belongings, coolers for our fresh catches, rods, bait, you name it and we've thought to bring it along. If you need special accommodations for anything such as wheelchairs and strollers, we're here to help.

Our pricing is set per charter and duration of time that you go out on the boat. Whether you book for one person, or the maximum capacity, the price on each charter is the set price you pay.

  • Do your charters include round-trip transportation?

We can accommodate you with round-trip transportation if you need it. During check-out you can opt for pickup and drop-off to your hotel or the cruise port.

  • Do you do shared charters?

We do not do shared charters. Our private charters are designed for families and friends looking to enjoy a day out fishing, swimming, and relaxing.

  • Is it safe to swim with sea turtles?

Yes they are very tame and love people. We do not allow you to touch them but do provide chum to feed on the trip. Any amount of pictures are allowed.

  • What are the age limits for taking a charter in Barbados?

No age limits when accompanied by an adult. We have had guests on board from 2 months old to 90 years old.

  • When is the best time to go to Barbados?

There's no bad time to visit Barbados. We tend to see Snow Birds and cruise ship passengers on our shores from October to June. And beach lovers come to Barbados from June to early August. For big-game fishing, February to mid-April is the peak season.

  • What are the best things to do in Bridgetown?

Sightseeing as Bridgetown is filled with architecture dating back to the early 1700s, such as the Parliament buildings. There is also George Washington House, where he lived at one point in time. Our very own home port (the Carreenage Marina) was also a major docking facility for cargo boats during World War I. There's never a dull moment in Bridgetown and it’s historic Garrison. Shopping around Bridgetown for souvenirs in the various craft shops is also within easy reach.
